Accessibility Statement
Centili Group Ltd. is committed to making its websites and digital services usable by as many people as possible, regardless of ability or technology. We are working towards conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.
Our commitment
Centili Group Ltd. (“Centili”, “we”, “us”) believes that everyone has the right to access information and services online. We are committed to providing a website and digital products that are accessible to the widest possible audience, including people who rely on assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice-recognition software and keyboard-only navigation.
This statement applies to the website published at https://www.centiligroup.com (centiligroup.com) and to the public-facing web interfaces operated by Centili. It does not extend to third-party content or platforms that we do not control, although we encourage our partners and sub-processors to meet equivalent standards.
We recognise our responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010, which requires service providers to make reasonable adjustments so that disabled people are not placed at a substantial disadvantage. We treat digital accessibility as an integral part of meeting that duty, and we measure our progress against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Measures we take
Accessibility is considered throughout our design, development and content-publishing processes rather than treated as an afterthought. The measures we take include the following.
Structure and semantics
- We build pages with semantic HTML — using headings, landmarks, lists, buttons and native form controls for their intended purpose — so that the structure of each page is conveyed correctly to assistive technology.
- We use a logical and consistent heading hierarchy so that screen-reader users can understand and navigate the content of a page efficiently.
- Where richer interactive components are required, we apply WAI-ARIA roles, states and properties so that their purpose and status are communicated programmatically.
Keyboard and input
- Interactive elements are reachable and operable using a keyboard alone, in a logical order, and do not trap focus.
- We aim to provide a visible focus indicator so that keyboard users can always see which element is currently selected.
- We avoid relying on hover or pointer-only interactions to expose essential functionality.
Visual design
- We design for sufficient colour contrast between text and its background, targeting the WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios, and we do not use colour as the only means of conveying information.
- Layouts are intended to reflow and remain usable when text is resized or the viewport is small, supporting zoom and responsive display.
- We respect the operating-system “reduced motion” preference (via the
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query), minimising or disabling non-essential animation for users who have indicated that motion causes them discomfort.
Content and media
- We provide meaningful text alternatives (alt text) for images that convey information, and mark decorative images so that they are ignored by assistive technology.
- Links and buttons are written so that their purpose is clear, ideally when read out of context.
- We write in plain, clear British English and structure content to aid comprehension.
Process
- We carry out a combination of automated accessibility testing and manual review, including keyboard-only and assistive-technology checks, as part of our ongoing development.
- We seek to incorporate accessibility considerations into our design system and component library so that improvements are applied consistently across the site.
Conformance status
The WCAG 2.1 standard defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities, at three levels of conformance: A, AA and AAA. Our target is WCAG 2.1 level AA.
Centili’s website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. “Partially conformant” means that some parts of the content do not yet fully meet the accessibility standard. We are honest about this: accessibility is an ongoing programme of work rather than a one-off project, and we do not claim full conformance. We are actively identifying and addressing the areas where we fall short, and we keep this statement under review as the site evolves.
This statement was prepared based on our own assessment of the website, combining automated tooling with manual testing. It was last reviewed on the date shown at the top of this page.
Known limitations & ongoing work
Despite our efforts, some users may experience difficulties with parts of our website. We are aware of, and working to address, limitations including the following.
| Area | Known limitation | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Animation & motion | Some richer animated sections may not fully degrade for every assistive technology, although a reduced-motion experience is provided. | Under review and improvement |
| Colour contrast | A small number of decorative or secondary text elements may not yet meet the AA contrast ratio in every state. | Being remediated |
| Third-party content | Embedded or linked third-party tools, documents and media may not meet the same accessibility standard as our own content. | Engaging with providers |
| Legacy documents | Older PDFs or downloadable files may not be fully tagged for accessibility. | Available on request in an alternative format |
We prioritise fixes based on the severity of the barrier and the number of users likely to be affected. If you encounter a problem that is not listed above, please tell us using the details in the Feedback section so that we can investigate and, where appropriate, add it to our remediation plan.
Compatibility
Our website is designed to be compatible with recent versions of widely used web browsers and assistive technologies. We test against, and aim to support, the following.
- Browsers: current and recent versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge and Apple Safari, on both desktop and mobile devices.
- Screen readers: commonly used assistive technologies such as VoiceOver (macOS and iOS), TalkBack (Android), and Windows screen readers including NVDA and JAWS, used with a supported browser.
- Other tools: keyboard-only navigation, browser zoom and text resizing, and operating-system accessibility settings including reduced-motion and high-contrast preferences.
The website may not display or behave as intended in unsupported or significantly out-of-date browsers, or where JavaScript is disabled. We recommend keeping your browser and assistive technology up to date for the best experience.
Feedback & alternatives
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our website. If you encounter a barrier, find that something is not accessible to you, or need information that is published on our site in a different format, please contact us. Where reasonable, we will provide the information you need in an alternative accessible format — for example, accessible PDF, large print, plain text, or another format that works for you.
To report an accessibility problem or request an accessible alternative, please email support@centili.co.uk. To help us respond effectively, please include:
- the web address (URL) of the page where you experienced the problem;
- a description of the barrier or difficulty you encountered;
- the browser, operating system and any assistive technology you were using (if known); and
- the format in which you would prefer to receive any requested information.
We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback and requests promptly and to respond substantively within a reasonable period. For broader privacy-related queries, see our Privacy Policy, and for general complaints, see our Complaints & Dispute Resolution policy.
Enforcement & escalation
We are committed to resolving accessibility concerns directly and will always try to put things right. If you contact us about an accessibility barrier and you are not satisfied with how we respond, you may escalate the matter through our formal Complaints & Dispute Resolution procedure by writing to complaints@centili.co.uk.
The Equality Act 2010 requires service providers to make reasonable adjustments for disabled people. If you believe we have failed to meet that obligation, the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) provides free, independent advice on equality and discrimination issues in England, Scotland and Wales. Nothing in this statement limits or affects your legal rights.
This statement is governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any related disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
