London, UK | 10 September 2018  -  The world’s largest social learning app Busuu and the largest Malaysian Mobile Network Operator by subscribers, Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (part of Telenor group) partnered with mobile payment platform company Centili, to launch Direct Carrier Billing (DCB) in Malaysia.

The partnership allows over 11.7 million Digi users to subscribe inside the Busuu web, iOS or Android App by simply charging their mobile and/or online payments directly to their mobile phone bill. Direct Carrier Billing (DCB) enriches user payment experience and simplifies the processes offering a variety of options for the end-consumer.

At the moment around 20 percent of people have credit cards in Malaysia, while the smart phone penetration is rapidly increasing and is now over 65 percent. Although the recent global trend that the number of digital paying customers is constantly increasing, the reality is that the majority of those users accessing online content have no convenient way of paying for it. Direct Carrier Billing resolves this issue by allowing mobile phone owners to get charged directly through their mobile account.

The partnership between Busuu, Digi and Centili allows customers to access the most advanced technology offered by telecom companies. As a result, clients don't have to be concerned with localization or legal compliance of the checkout flows since they are managed by Centili and localized to each country/market.
