Vivo and Centili partner to bring Direct Carrier Billing to Indian, Indonesian and Thai markets

London, UK | 17 September 2018  -  The international Chinese technology company Vivo partnered with mobile payment platform company Centili, to launch Direct Carrier Billing (DCB) in India, Indonesia and Thailand. The partnership will allow users to make one-time mobile payments by simply charging their mobile phone bill. Direct Carrier Billing (DCB) enriches user payment experience and simplifies the processes offering a variety of options for the end-consumer.

These three markets are very attractive for this kind of a partnership, as a small number of people have a credit card to make online payments, while the number of smartphone owners is large  and is constantly rising. This means most people accessing online content have no easy way to pay for it. Direct carrier billing resolves this issue by allowing each mobile phone owner (either prepaid or postpaid) to have their online payments charged directly to their mobile account.
